Earthbound - Kira's Lab

Kira’s laboratory takes place in the Underground world, just beneath the Earth’s surface. A space where a group of freedom fighters/scientists are working on a secret project that will save the planet and peoples lives one at a time.

The space was designed to have a spiritual undertone, whilst still relating to the Brutalist world. This ideology translated into a shaft of light coming from the ceiling to the operating table. The design language of the space was based around the ‘circle’, a symbolism of life, protection and harmony in contrast to the harsh lines and angles of the underground city. This was an important message to convey, as the Protagonist Max is given another lease on life in the Film.
